Companion/Sitter Job Description

The Companion/Sitter provides homemaking services and spends time with an individual. The Companion/Sitter may not provide hands-on personal care to clients, per state regulations.

Qualifications:
• 1 year of experience working in a home care setting
• Must have a valid NC Driver’s License
• Personal means of transportation
• Good interpersonal skills
• Dependable

Job Duties:
• Maintain the home in an optimum state of cleanliness and safety. Provide light housekeeping tasks, including preparation of meals, laundry, and shopping.
• Provide companionship services, such as playing games, cards, reading, watching television, and accompanying the client on trips and outings. Report to the Service Supervisor any incidents or problems related to his or her work immediately.
• Report any unusual incidents or changes in the client's behavior to the Service Supervisor.
• Maintain service records.
• Provide escort services, such as accompanying the client to doctor’s appointments and other errands.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Supervisor.

In-Home Aide Job Description

The In-Home Aide provides hands-on assistance with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and IADLs (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) to clients in their home.

Qualifications:
• 1 year of experience working in a home care setting
• Must have a valid NC Driver's License
• Personal means of transportation
• Good interpersonal skills
• Dependable
• NA I or NA II (if applicable)

Job Duties:
• Maintain the home in an optimum state of cleanliness and safety. Provide light housekeeping tasks, including preparation of meals, laundry, and shopping.
• Provide hands-on assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and eating. Assist the client with self-administration of medications.
• May assist with monitoring blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, temperature, and pulse (if within scope of practice and delegated by an RN).
• Perform other skilled nursing services within their scope of practice as delegated by an RN.
• Report to the RN Supervisor any change in condition, incidents, or problems related to the client immediately.
• Report any unusual incidents or changes in the client's behavior to the RN Supervisor.
• Accurately document and maintain service records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the RN Supervisor.
